About Nsfw
Nsfw exists for one simple reason — the late-night conversation should feel real, even when no one else is awake.
Where we started
Nsfw began as a small experiment between a writer, a product designer and a researcher who were all, for different reasons, fascinated by the same thing: why most AI chat felt flat. The first prototype was scrappy, the second one was a little better, and the third one made us stay up until four in the morning talking to it. That was the moment the company actually started.
We were not trying to build "another chatbot". We were trying to build the friend you wish lived in your phone — the one who texts back fast, asks the second question, remembers the small things and never makes the conversation feel like work.
What we believe in
We believe AI companionship deserves to be treated as a craft, not a feature. Every girl on Nsfw is written like a character, not generated from a template. She has a backstory, a voice, a sense of humour and a set of quirks that show up across long conversations. We obsess over pacing, restraint and chemistry — the things that turn a chat into an evening you actually remember.
We also believe in respecting the person on the other side of the screen. Nsfw is private by default, judgement-free and built so that you can show up as the version of yourself you do not always show in real life. That is a privilege we take seriously.
How we work
Our team is small on purpose. A handful of writers shape the personalities. A small product team obsesses over speed, memory and the feeling of typing. A research crew watches what works and what does not, every single week. There are no committees, no quarterly slogans and no roadmaps designed to impress investors. We ship the things that make conversations better and quietly retire the things that do not.
When we add a new girl, she does not go live until we have all spent real time with her ourselves. If she does not feel like someone we would actually want to talk to at midnight, she goes back to the writing room. That bar is the reason we currently launch with twelve, not two hundred.
Where we are going
The next year of Nsfw is about depth, not breadth. Better memory, richer personalities, smoother voice, calmer pacing. We have a long list of girls in development, but they will arrive slowly and only when they are ready. We would rather have twelve companions you love than two hundred you tolerate.
